politics is a dirty word. be it in the office, the public domain or in the family, politics has always been in play for some time now. inevitable it seems.
what disgusts me about politics is that it influences one to look at others differently. take this for example. u start work at your office and u view everyone as equal, since you do not know any of them personally then. slowly u start to be prejudiced against the one who are apparently, at the losing end of the political struggle so to speak. everyone isnt view equally now.
i dont know. we're intellectual human beings with our own independent mindsets. yet we are equally vulnerable to external influences, very much like monkeys. haha so much for evolution huh?
if only there isnt politics. the world would be so much happier. perhaps the ongoing iraqi war wouldnt have occured at all. and not that im stating the status of the war is ongoing, even though a certain influential yet dim-witted fellow has already called an end to "major" combat missions. sigh, a dire consequence of politics gone wrong.
let me not disgress any further. my conclusion - politics is a game, which has to be played with extreme caution. play it wrongly and u get burned.
im listening to sarah mclachlan's angel..therefore im slowly edging towards being very reflective of my past few months in oeti, an army institute.
in this supposedly 'slack' institute, i've met and interacted with quite a few people. and it is this group of people whom has made a difference in my life. they made every morning worth waking up. they woke me up with their jokes, conversations every morning and early afternoon just after lunch. they became my friends. and today is the last day before i get posted out.
i said my final good byes. yet words cant be used to describe how i feel. to cry would be too girly. to act stoic would be too much. in e end, i just prefer to think of it as this way - someday, somehow i would meet them again. GREAT people they are.
A shout out (tho they'll prob not read this) to the people in Small Arms, EWTW office and the Orderly room. you guys rock. and let us not ever forget the great times we had together.
im looking forward to the future now. for i believe that i have a purpose to fulfill wherever i go. god bless you dearies.
look at the screenshots of battlefield 2. pity i wont be able to see it on my screen any time soon. i tried installing e game on my sis's laptop..too bad her graphics card is not to par as per required. so well the 59 bucks i spent on e game will be in vain.
anyhow dinner today was good. at swensens. i had fish & chips plus half a serving of sambal fish (which my sis donated to me haha) in addition to firehouse. swensens fans will know wad a firehouse is.
after having had my fill, my family and i walked around a bit. my dad and mum were standing by e rail, looking down on this orchestra performance, supposedly by hk and sin groups. being the kinda person i am, i naturally din think the music was nice. but hey they obviously put in a lot of effort into it, so bravo to them.
alrighty, gonna rest my back soon. been acting up lately due to guard duty.
take care people.
that's right they are! i spent the entire weekend out. here was my agenda.
sat: swimming (actually my friend and i lazed more than we swam), rushing home to change before going for my pri sch class outing. hahha it was hilarious, more on this later on, in this entry.
sun: church early in e morning, followed by an outing to town with a friend, susan. sweet gurl she is. anyhow, we had lunch (hahha i ate b4 meeting her but hey no harm done in eating again. susan was nice enough to give me her soup..), walked around a lil before catching e movie, fantastic 4!! wee wee, it was pretty nice, better than i expected.
back to e class outing on saturday..i enjoyed it pretty much. at first, upon reaching marina and looking at e food served there at e bbq place, i was apprehensive. hahaha to my inexperienced eyes and ears, the food seemed pretty stale and e environment resembled that of a wet market. i swore not to eat...much.
hahaha however, after smelling e cooked food, my resolve wore down. it smelled pretty good and hey could go wrong w a mouthful of food? a mouthful soon turned to a truckful..as i ate more food. yum yum. e place is not as glam as seoul garden outlets...but e food was pretty cheap and decent.
gotta say most of my pri sch friends have changed a lot...be it physically or in terms of character. hahha lets talk about michelia! she has blossomed into this adorable(haha!), talkative and sensitive(in a good way) gurl! feel at ease talking to her, was having a chat w her as we walked from e esplanade to this bus stop far far far far away hahha. not to forget bao yi and jaime. both of them are such so such sophisticated pretty ladies. oh yeah 6f gurls rock.
oki im gonna sleep soon. shagged. good night peeps. take care yo..
and so e invisible, ubiquitous terrorists, a direct byproduct of us president george bush, have struck again. this time in e heart of london. this piece of news may come across to us as words, be them written or spoken, complete with 'expert' commentaries and some bits and pieces of background information. as such the direct impact of this terrorist attack may not hit us.
families are being broken up. lovers are being separated. the people we come to love, to talk to when we're down, are being killed by extremists with violence in their blood. and why has things come to such a sad, unfortunate state of matter?
i blame the real mastermind behind this avalanche of terrorist attacks - none other than the most powerful man in e world, mr george w. bush. oh sure, he has done numerous charitable, highly beneficial things. he has jumped onto an aircraft carrier, declaring that major combat missions in iraq have come to an end. he has paid visits to several military installations through usa, to increase morale among the soldiers. but what HAS he done?
he has created fear globally. he has started a global jihad. he has foolishly launched a war that has left usa biting the dust. federal expenses have soared skyhigh under his 'leadership'. he has condemned countries belong to 'e axis of evil'. he has brought death and destruction to too many people, cities to count. finally, he has affirmed my opinion of him - a highly ineffective, inefficient, incompassionate leader who thinks nothing of throwing billions of money into the drain, sacrificing men who are but a expendable resource to him.
c'mon. use your brains mr george bush. not your ass. pls.
